I think he'd shown just a little growth with Julien Donkey Boy, but I haven't seen anything after that.

Still don't know about this guy, still pretty sure he's full of shit, though it can be interesting shit sometimes, I guess.

Blaine doesn't star in it. Matter of fact, his role is so small that I didn't even notice he was in it until the ending credits.

Oh, I forgot-- His book _Crack-Up at the Race Riots_ is damn good.

That tips the scale into N/C for me.

Also, Julien Donkey-Boy has good cinematography, so there's that.

Yeah, Not Crap. I do wish, though, that when he quoted Godard on Letterman*, he had given credit to Godard, instead of more or less passing these lines off as his own. He should've held himself to a higer standard in that instance. It's kind of cheap move.

Kids had its moments and Gummo was a trip. The part where the folks at around instigating the beat down of kitchen furniture was pure hilarity and, unfortunately perhaps, presaged all of the Jack-Ass-type bullshit that pervades to this day. He took it a step further with Fight Harm.

Would the world miss the guy if he bit shit and got buried? Prolly not.

Mister Lonely is Not Crap. See it if you get a chance. It played exactly twice in Birmingham.

It's funny, moving, shocking and fun. It's a lot closer to a typical narrative than people might expect from him but still in his own style. I took a friend along to see it (she generally only watches cartoon movies with her 3 yr old) and she said it was the weirdest film she'd ever seen but even she thought it was not crap.

The side story with the nuns didn't make immediate sense to me but I've just about put it together now. The only thing I would change about the film is the nun on the BMX, I think that must be in there just because a stunt guy was showing off and they filmed it.


The genius/charlatan options are silly but Korine is not a charlatan; he knows what he's doing.

I cannmot wait to see Mister Lonely. The trailer looks great.
