Oh, ok. Jimi hendrix had the alias of Jimmy James with his band Jimmy James and the Blue Flames early in his career. The band at one point included Skunk Baxter.

YES! The very same Skunk Baxter (are there others?)! Skunk also played with the Doobie Bros and has recorded with everyone from Carl Wilson to Edgar Winter, Ringo Starr, Joni Mitchell, Little Feat, and the list goes on and on. Seriously, Cheryl Ladd for crying out loud!

a friend ofmine played me some 12" table LP which i absolutely loved.
i can't remember if it had a title- though i recall it was sort of a comp of various recordings, and the jacket had 1995 as the date of release.
before i bug my friend to make a cd-r of it- does anyone know if they're available on CD?

it really is unfortunate but it is no longer available in any form. i wish it was as i too only have a cdr of it. if your buddy cant or wont make you a copy, ill be happy to do so. -kevin

EA shared gmail account has a Table session. I listened to it, on a whim, last night, and found it mighty good.

Does anyone have a CD-R of the Table album available at the moment? I'd debase myself for a copy, been trying intermittently to get more stuff of theirs for years, imagine my excitement when I typed their name into Google and:

I've been through most of them, no luck so far.

Look out for the cheese-wire sharp side project "Drool" c.1994 which (I think) was Table's rhythm section

I have an album by them, but the song that turned me onto them initially can be found on the still-easy-to-find-used-oh-how-ironic Dutch East India comp Buy This Used CD -- which is actually a pretty great comp.
