That is our traditional "Oakland Greeting"

Welcome to Oakland, now we'll set you aflame.

That's just how we roll.

Ben Adrian

let me tell you when you look back on the first song and see that your drummer is on fire, and I mean litterally ON FIRE, it means you are going to have a great show.

Oh, come on. He wasn't that on fire. I've burned myself more severely while cooking. You were burning much more brightly when Tyler and I put fuel-soaked angel wings on you while you were passed out on the futon that one time.

actally I don't think I was burned by that at all... and Dj was burned pretty bad, I mean it was just a finger, but I looked back and saw his hand flailing (in time to the song) while on fire...

several cool things about my dad:

he is in a norman rockwell painting.

he swam across a salt water pond (well over a mile) with alan lomax.

as a teenager in the early 60's he was the janitor of the club 47 in cambridge where he saw bob dylan, phil ochs, joseph spence and like a million other people i wish i had seen.

he built his own house.

my friend charlie saw the who, cream and blue cheer on the same bill and thought they all sucked. he was also at woodstock which, acording to him, also sucked.

my friend sal, who is 12, has had his own band for 6 years now. they rock.

My dad did this, too. Cut down the trees, planed the wood and built his own damn house. He finished a year ago and now wants to sell the place.

Salut, home building dads.

My best girlfriend acted as a French translator during Operation Babylift in Viet Nam when she was 10 years old. She was also the first black cheerleader at Michigan State.

"Sitting in seawater, being attacked by swordfish and swamped by storms were not conducive to survival."

!!!

I will get the book that this man has written about his crazy and insane sea voyage!

Thank you, HCT.

My friend Alessio was ‘named and shamed’ as ‘The Man Behind the May Day Mob’ on the cover of the London Evening Standard, May 2002. He immediately went out to a paper stall and bought an Evening Standard baseball cap, and wore it all day, on the tube etc.

My friend Simon survived a fifty-six day hunger strike in a Greek prison in 2003, which ended when he and his comrades had their demands met. He said he did it by smoking a lot.
