32Isn't Erika around any more? I thought they did quite a nice job with two things I was involved with. Pretty thick--had to be for one with no label on it. Plus, they did a sawblade-shaped LP for W.A.S.P.! What rules more than that?

33Erica do make awesome vinyl. Their specialty and colors are second to none. However, they have 2 bad things going for 'em - 1) expensive and 2) very poor customer service. No one else in the States makes glow in the dark vinyl or 5",8",11", shaped, etc records.
42nd St Matthew....if you're not using one of the top guys like Erika for your 7" needs, I assume you're trying to get out a 7" cheap. No shame in that, that's what I do (LPs are another story). I would definitely talk to Musicol first and see what they quote you. I also want to say I tried out their 'package deal' with my last record because I couldn't afford a seperate masterer and it worked out well for me - mileage may vary on that, but the guy didn't do a bad job by any means (considering the source material, I'd be shocked if anyone made it sound glossy and professional).

35M_a_x, a digital transfer of an analog source for mastering is a lot different then recording digitally in the first place. It will not steal your soul. The digital copy will have the same dynamic range and frequency response of the analog source material and will then be put back into an anlog playback format. It will sound like your master tape.
John Golden's work is world class. Drop your superstitions. That's the real voodoo.

36You'll be happy to know since my next record is going to be in mono (l-o-n-g story how that happened!) I will have no choice but to get Golden to mix it, unless I pony up the 1200$ for Abbey Road which uhm........not with these heating bills this winter!

I put out a 7" through them and actually had a very good customer service experience. My stampers disappeared and were found damaged so they then had another set made and then rush shipped my packages to me. Also, they were more than willing to help out with whatever questions I had about making sure what I sent them would be the proper format.

How long ago was this? Admittedly, all my experiences with Erika were 5 years ago...if they've cleaned up their act, I sure would be interested in working with them again. As I've always said, quality quality stuff.
