Pretty much everyone we came in to contact with in the build up to this hallowed event grimaced when i asked about WC, or if there was one nearby. Everyone except one sadistic individual called Ben.

*interupting a friendly soul during their anti-recommendation:
"Do it. Do it. Seriously. You HAVE to go. Go. Do it. Don't listen to him. Go. It's not far. Do it. Go now. He's wrong. Do it. Get a dozen. Go. Go now."

Such passion and terror in his eyes and voice. I had to obey.

I also went for a Kuma's about 2 hours after it. (Mastodon - medium, incase you were wondering). Both ends of the scale, and both in their own way, very Not Crap.

I love Chicago so much.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to hit Kuma's with you guys

Me too. But seriously, we'll be back before too long. I didn't even find the time to manage a YOB! I've already started trying to work out how soon i can afford to come back over.

Boxes of authentic White Castle burgers are available in Oregon in your grocer's freezer.

The only time I ever drove through Indiana, about ten years ago, I stopped at a White Castle at an oasis just over the Illinois border. The girl behind the counter was barefoot, pregnant, maybe seventeen, and had a tattoo on her face. Seemed nice, though.

Don't be fooled. They do not taste the same.

See, this is killing me. I know, like -- *KNOW* -- deep in my heart that this must be true, but goddammit, I miss me some fucking White Castle. It's been about 2 months now since I moved out here from the Midwest, and I am officially feeling the sense of loss. I have been considering the freezer versions over the past few weeks, but haven't been able to bring myself to do it.

But still -- the loss. She is overwhelming.

The freezer ones suck, I agree. Not worth even fucking with.

Is it just a Minneapolis thing, or are White Castles nationwide leafleting sacks of delicious food with drunk driving advisory warnings?

I have received educational material on my last two trips. The first such trip kind of made sense, since I was purchasing delicious sacks of food by the drive-through method on a late Friday night/early Saturday morning some weeks ago. However, the second such trip made little or no sense since I purchased delicious food inside the establishment at noon on a Tuesday.

Most of the people in my local Castle (at Blaisdell-Lake over South in Minny) do not own or use cars, which makes the matter only slightly more confusing.

Sad news, Chris: Veggie Castle has closed.

Now you will never know, and I will never get to mock you about it.
