Hello
i wonder what system do have all the analog audio purists here to listen to their cds ?
mine is not of big interest : amp is a Rotel RA-01 with a pair of Divatech Diva 18 (french brand with great musicality and flat response). i was interested in a subwoofer (Sidney AR12) to fill the >60hz range but it seems most of them are too boOOoomy for me.

i'm changing house therefore I cannot control the acronyms well on the apparatuses...
anyway:
Amp: mission (cyrus one)
Speaker: cerwin vega (at 44... not 100%sure of the number, maybe 46...48...)
cd: nad (don't remenber model)
vynil: thorens (don't remenber model)
It's an obsolete system. It produces, moreover, little bottoms, but i still like it.
bye

Some changes coming soon, but for now:
Turntable - Harman-Kardon T55-C with Grado Gold cart.
CD - Denon DCM 460. I don't understand guys who spend $5000 on a CD player. Above $400-500 they all pretty much sound the same, eh?
Amp - 1961 Fisher X-101-B integrated amp. Class AB1 using 7591A beam pentodes. Great amp, very sweet phono pre.
Speakers - early 90's JBL's, LX500 I think. They kinda suck, especially the mids. Going to replace with a set of B&W 602s or Paradigm Monitor 5s
The cunnumdrum of audio - do you spend money on components only to have nothing for music, or buy music to live with lesser components? I tend to go for the music, overall...

vinyl -- Rega P25
amp -- Plinius 8200 (a couple versions ago)
Speakers - B&W Signature 805
Subwoofer -- REL Strata 3 (not boomy, integrates well)
This stereo is by far my biggest investment in consumer goods.

I have two of those 400 CD players by Sony. They're pretty decent actually, since they are linked together and cooperate. So, if I'm doing something boring like housework, I just hit "random" and it plays random tracks from CDs in both players, with zero loading time between tracks (since the idle player is getting ready to start playing while the other is busy playing something).
I find that it plays some crazy shit that I wouldn't normally bother loading into the player intentionally, which is good because I paid extortionist fees for most of the CDs in the first place. Plus, I have the CDs categorized so I can just play random punk or classical or whatever I'm in the mood for.
My other stuff is ok I guess - a Marantz amp, NAD vinyl and Tannoy speakers. I used to have Wharfedale speakers, but gave them to my sister a while back. I miss them now as the Tannoys don't really cut it.
