What in the world, we love to see it! I was hoping to get to the home opener yesterday but couldn't swing it.

Like so many others, I got swept up in all the excitement with the Dodgers after getting to attend a game at Dodger Stadium in 2023. Add "Shohei Mania" to that and I've been hooked (though Teo and Mookie are still my top two dudes on that team.). We got tickets to see them play the Cubs at Wrigley next month, very excited for that. Hoping to make some of the Sox/Astros series as well.

In more exciting news, we've got tickets to a Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters game in a few weeks when we're visiting Sapporo. Stoked to be up there and pay my respects to the weird "#11 Building" in the stadium that stands as a tribute to Ohtani and Yu Darvish.

This year, I have completely lost interest in baseball.

Both Chicago teams led me here. The Sox, just because they are so ridiculously bad and the owner's contempt of fans. The Cubs, because they are richer than god and spend like they are the small-market Royals.

Both are unavailable on my preferred streaming service, having made the decision to trade fans/viewers for paid subscribers to their boutique stations.
Plus the quality of MLB sucks now. All this emphasis on maximum effort on every pitch has resulted in a record number of pitchers needing TJ surgery. That's created throwers and not pitchers.
Gone forever are the days when guys like Maddux and Buehrle could pitch complete games topping 92 mph. Now, It's just of no-name middle relievers that only look to strike out everyone. It has made the game exceptionally boring to watch.

Even with the dumpster fire that was the 2024 White Sox, I still watched half the games, if only to witness ignominious history being made.

And my backup favorite team, the Orioles, failed to improve their rotation and lineup during the offseason despite having a lot of chips to use to trade for a front-end starter and power bat.
