Living solely on a diet of warm PBR, Crisco and bacon does not make you a "body builder".

Fatty fat pants.

What do you fry your bacon in mister healthy-pants?

There's a huge difference between frying bacon in Crisco and using Crisco as "dippin' sauce".

You're right. Crisco's better on bread anyway.

Ok... This reaffirms my notion of indie-rock flabbiness. Yeah, I guess it's cooler to sit and noodle on the couch, or make vague "threats" about taking up Nautilus (OK, that's funny).

It's very interesting how there is a well defined culture and beliefs of "jock bad" and "cool guitar guy with ironic indie look good" are virtually set in stone. Indie rock is an institution, and you could virtually write a handbook for it. At the same time, there seems to be a faint idea that there's something really different about this scene. Really, there's not. It's just as institutional as the hippy, metal, or rave scenes. There's the look (which is often mistaken for the lack of one), the preferred record labels, and slimy clubs that put on shows for these bands.

What do I know? I listened to "indie rock" for 15 years, and now I absolutely can't find more than 3 or 4 decent albums in this "genre" that were released in the past 4 years.

I agree with a few others who have said "indie rock is dead". I think, more accurately, it has become a parody of itself...

Yes Yut, it "is" probably a good "idea" to assume "that" anyone who "doesn't" like lifting "weights" is into "indie rock" and "flabby." You've certainly "proved" your "assumptions" to be "true."
There are crispy fries waiting to come out of your oven: you just have to make them and put them there.
