Calzaghe was magnificent.
That was some fight. He took Lacy back to school, man.

3my god, that was a fucking blow out! I don't think lacy landed more than 3 punches the whole fight. joe is a fun fighter to watch, he's like a cat when he throws those combinations (prolly why the lacy camp was saying that he didn't have any real power just slaping punches) However, the outcome had pretty much been decided by the end of the third so i'm gonna vote crap.

4I must admit I started the fight worried for Joe, but by half way through I was more worried for Lacy. I think they should have stopped it around round ten, before it got really nasty.
Kerble, they should have stopped the original around series three, before they jumped the shark with that lesbian stuff.

6I know I'm repeating myself, but what a fight.
Salut, Joe Calzaghe. They said you would get beaten and that you were past your prime, and you silenced them by fighting twelve rounds of boxing up there with the best the world has ever seen.

9More often than not, I like a close fight. This was far from close, but I enjoyed it, anyway. I am trying to think of a 12 round championship bout where one fighter dominated the other like Calzaghe did over Lacy. Calzaghe would have won every round if it wasn't for the point taken in the 10th or 11th (I can't remember which).
I have never seen either of these fighters before, so what was it, then: Calzaghe has weak hands or Lacy has a tough chin? Because Calzaghe hit him flush several times.
And the U.K. crowds make for excellent boxing crowds. I remember as a kid watching Barry McGuigan fight for the featherweight title. The crowd brought an energy to that bout you rarely if ever receive from the likes of those who attend title fights in Las Vegas or Atlantic City.
Anyhow, great crowd and fantastic fighting on the part of Calzaghe, and so, not crap.

Well, Calzaghe isn't the biggest puncher, but I think the length of the fight can be attributed to Lacy's chin. Lacy is no slouch, and it's to Calzaghe's credit that he made Lacy look as ineffective as he did.

I think Calzaghe is next fighting in Cardiff on July 8th, although I don't think his opponent has been confirmed. Get a ticket!
