I could compile a CD worth of Tortoise stuff that's ok, but I never will. They are one of the most boring live acts I've ever seen.

Also, the existence of Jaga Jazzist renders Tortoise irrelevant. Jaga Jazzist do the same thing, but far better, far more interestingly and importantly they BRING THE ROCK live.

I don't know what shows you saw, but the two times I saw Tortoise, they were phenomenal. one was outside in a light rain. impeccable live show.

plus, they didn't name their band Jaga Jazzist, which is a ridiculously awful name for a band.

I do know that the box set will include a Mike Watt remix that was delivered too late to be included on "Rhythms, Resolutions & Clusters." This remix has a funny story attached to it which was relayed by one Tortoise to Mr. Jay Ryan. I don't think I'd do the story justice...but maybe Jay can try.
