BAND:THE CARDIGANS
2oh hell yeah. when a friend came back from a trip to sweden with a copy of what i understood to be their first album (called "life"), it totally kicked our asses. that's one of the best albums to put on while doing spring cleaning. not kidding. and up until another friend introduced me to komeda, i woulda said that the cardigans were my #1 favoritest swedish chick band. never got too into abba.
so yeah, the stuff that came out after that was still good, just so much darker and too tech'd out. still good stuff on the right day.
uncrap, if only because of the "hello, goodbye" backing vocal.

3I'm only familiar with "Lovefool" and their cover of "Iron Man."
Based on those, I must say CRAP!

4thats strange. because if i was only familiar with those two songs, i'd say "not crap" haha...however, since i've heard all of their stuff and found most of it to be boring, i say "crap"
now, Komeda on the other hand...not crap

5I used to like them after the first record, but then it just got old for me. I really hate the "little girl" voice - that's one of my pet peeves. "Please don't hurt me, I'm just a girl who sings", yuck. CRAP.

6I think the arrangements and production on the first two albums (particularly the second one, First Band On The Moon) are splendid. I like a lot of the sounds that come out of Tambourine Studios. There is a band called Eggstone, well worth checking out - REALLY interesting production. They own the studios, I believe.
'Lovefool' is not a fair representation of The Cardigans. I think that song is balls.

I wholeheartedly second the NOT CRAP vote for Komeda. What a great band. I could listen to "A Simple Formality" until the cow is not on the ice.
If anyone gets that joke, then you're probably a silly little Swede.

This is Grade A comedy material, Intern_8033. You have made me to laugh! Salut for to write the funny jokes!

8I once saw the Cardigans at the Dublin Castle being supported by my friend's band called..... Pullover.
The sound was a bit woolly (etc.)
N/C just for the first album.

9I enjoyed the second and third ("life" and "...moon") but "...moon" didn't hold up the last time I listened to them. The dude that put out a couple of their discs described their new stuff as "Sheryl Crow" sounding. Great!
I'm fairly certain that CRAP is in call for in spite of my initial enjoyment as a hormonally imbalanced college dork.
Oh yeah, those first two Komeda records ("Pop sva svenska" and "What makes it go") are unbelieveable. The new one, "Kokomemedada" sucks the bag. Avoid!
