Looking for a space to record (anywhere in the UK)

Hullo my EA confreres,

Sorry to hassle y'all, and I do try and avoid these quasi-spammy posts. It's just that seeing as there are so many sonically-inclined people here, it seems like a good place to throw this question out in the open.

My band are looking for a space where we can record our second album in July. I emphasise space cos we ain't after a studio; we're gonna record ourselves. We have all the necessaries (24 tracks, all the microphones a man could ever want, the experience, etc), all we need is a decent sounding room somewhere where we can be loud for a week.

So, if you know anyone who's got a space anywhere in the UK that could be vaguely suitable, please do get in touch! We will, of course, pay rent for his or her troubles. We will be also be spiritually indebted for the rest of our lives. We are nice, friendly, organised and not too drunk.

If you want to check out my band, go here and look at our very ugly and somewhat naff website. Really, any help would be massively appreciated. We have got one space lined up but it could well be absolute shite if proposed work isn't done on the building before July, so we really need a back-up plan. Thanks again, don't hesitate to respond to this or PM me,

He went to bed about a decade ago, or whenever he sold his soul to the bankers and the elites.

Sneinton School Hall's caretakers have gotten pretty loathe to having any kind of live music there due to neighbour's complaints. But the university, that is an idea... Thanks for your suggestions, folks! You're right, I don't have any imagination.... I'll try and get some feedback of Elvis about the Q Arts Centre, ta Ian - did you get your boater back by the way?

depending on how loud. Cube Cinema Bristol

I did a few pieces for drums, FX guitar and laptop guitar, started at 10am finished at 5pm when people started setting up for the gig in the evening.

its a LOVELY sounding room. it sounds like sex.
My pretty pony! Why, Zorak, why? You could have had any woman you wanted! But you chose the woman I love almost as much as I love myself! You ruined my life, you ruined her life, and now, I'm going to ruin your life!!!

thanks for all the help. bartok, could you pm me some details about this space in bristol?

one problem we have is that we're a reasonably large band (5 piece) with a fair amount of equipment and big amps behind which we hide. also, although we're not the loudest band ever, we're still pretty damn loud at the best of times... so we need somewhere where that won't be a problem.

also, we really need somewhere where we can get a lock-in - we could realistically record the album in 6 or 7 days, but only, I think, if we can leave everything set up overnight. The idea of having to mark mike positions, set up anew every day, etc, seems really counter-productive.

I can even offer an exchange programme of sorts! If anyone here has a decent space in turn, we in turn could record you! to 24 tracks, pro-tools, mixed and mastered as well if you like. Like twinned towns. That'd be nice, wouldn't it ?
