I have a little solid-state Traynor TS-25 practice amp with what feels like sticker goo all over the faceplate where the knobs are. tried wiping it off, but it's on there. applying pressure seems to smear the under-the-goo printed Traynor logo and knob indicators (volume, treble, bass, etc..)
Any idea of a safe substance that'll take this layer of schmegma off without ruining the amp labels underneath?

2Lighter fluid might work.
Definately test it in a corner or under a knob first.
Good luck and stop jerking off onto your amp.

5Kerosene is usually a fairly safe and inexpensive substance to remove sticker funge. As others have said though, test it someplace unobtrusive, though.

6I wouldn't go for goof off, that's some pretty harsh stuff. I'd recommend goo gone, which is citrus based. works wonders on all kinds of sticker sludge.
