I'm listening to the FLAC of the 12-1 show right now. I forgot how good and important that drummer Steve DePace was.

Catastrophe music. Now I'm going to weigh in and say Not Crap.

This is exciting news. I just saw flipper in september (and got to sing sex bomb on stage! - they still let audience members sing with them) and i found them to be a ton more crushing and distorted than i remembered listening to their recorded stuff. they are still going strong.

the first song they played was "the light, the sound...." followed by "flipper twist".

im pretty sure 3rd was "life is cheap" and 4th was "get away". "shine" may have been next but thats where i start to get a little memory impaired.

i know kris couldnt figure out how to play "ever" correctly so that was only played for maybe 20 seconds.

for sure the other songs on the set were (not in total order): life, sacrifice, love canal, shed no tears and sex bomb, though i feel im forgetting one or two.

i got pictures, but will have to put them up a little later tonight.

that was a fucking incredible show, bruce is a pheonominal front man, and ted, steve and kris played like anyone could have hoped for.

yeah, and teds amp shorted out 3 songs in (you'd think with his tones and playing this would happen a lot) but it wasnt too bad at all, because of the wonderful little improv seeming meddley they played of "life is cheap" while waiting for ted to fix up.

like i said though, great show from my all time favorites. and i hope to see them again soon.

Unless I'm going to see night #2 of a band, I make it a rule to never bring a camera to a show I think I'm going to enjoy, because

a) there will always be someone else recording it visually and/or aurally "better" anyway
b) I actually want to have fun

Exceptions are made if friends in bands ask me to do so, obv.

Wait a little while for the google links to catch up to Dec 1st, and then google-image "Flipper Seattle Krist" and see what pops up.

i think "Public Flipper" out does "Blow'n", its more atmospheric.
