Actually, speaking of relearning songs: Could you do me a favor and relearn Strongdar, and play it at your next show for me? I waited like, 3 years for you to put that song out, and I don't think I've heard you guys play it in like, 10 years.

We did relearn that song recently and I think we played it at a show at the Hideout last July. I believe (and I am not lying here) it was at your request on some other thread here on EA.

I guess you must have missed that show!

From what I have heard about the preparations for those shows I don't think lazy would be an accurate word.

This is what I heard as well, from a guy who was asked to play Brian's guitar parts but was not able to do it because of the very intense practicing that lead up to those reunion shows.

Sorry, Chris.

From my understanding, and I believe maybe it was MR. Ralph who said it one of the many Slint related threads, that Brian never played guitar and sang Spiderland live during the brief period the band was around. (I have a bootleg of this period and all the Spiderland songs are vocaless). He also that Brian's brother was always considered part of the band. I don't know, it's their music, they can do what they want with it, just like you can choose not to go see them.

Personally, I thought they were great when I saw them, but I wasn't paying attention to the lightshow or how they dressed, etc.

European brethren, enjoy the show!

Yet.

It's my understanding they intend to intend to write/record new material over the next couple of years - individual schedules permitting.

Also, they’re touring Europe around the Primavera Sound, and if they play in the US it will be one show in NYC.

They may be squeezing a bit of juice out of Slint Inc. to help pay some bills, but they certainly aren't driving new Chryslers and all that. Are they? Although there is quite a bit of that merchandise left over from last time out, I imagine these upcoming ventures will not simply be hollow money grabs. Certainly money will be made and this facet is on the surface from the outset unlike in '89 when people didn't have kids to take care of. But, I’m hoping and thinking there is enough genuineness in them getting together to play and record new material that we could still get some good music out of it without it being too much of a turn off. I’d rather hear new material, by the way, than Spiderland anymore. If their new material is crap or a slint song ends up on TV aiding the mood of a product or service, I’ll throw in the towel for sure.

Is slint a business or a band or what percentage of each?

For some of you, perhaps a new name would help like…

$lint
