If you're on a budget you can snag some hole covers at your local hardware (evil or not) for pennies.
They come in chrome or white/black/brown plastic. It tidies things up quite a bit.

Yep. My guitar tech /buddy/ manservant used some copper sheet on the underside of the pickguard and it's actually nice to look at . Diddy told me so.

13Few more tweaks and SHE LIVES!
Mahogany body finished in tung oil and beeswax, EMG passive at neck, SD cool rails at bridge, Gibson-style 3-way toggle and single volume control (no tone).
The custom, 3-ply (Bl/W/Bl) pickguard only cost £18.
Weighs about as much as a small cow.

17I've just about finished putting together (thanks significantly to the marvellous Nico Adie) a new guitar. The body was a freebie from a local luthier, the rest is stuff I had already or stuff that was given to me by extremely generous types.

That guitar looks very "special". I think a more appropriate name is the Retardocaster.

Frankly, I love it. It's perfectly utilitarian. If Stalin was ever into rocking out, I imagine he'd rock out playing one of these.
