It should be better than it is...
Stanier is always a pleasure.
Go John!

I'd recommend Mit Gas over Tomahawk, as I like the songs better.
however, that isn't saying much. I reall only enjoy "Capt. Midnight", but there's some stuff I do dig. it's weird how they've managed to conjure up "90's retro" as their sound, but I guess it makes sense.
Not Crap, major major waffles.
However, I do think 'Tomahawk' is one of the finest band names ever.
kerble is right.

23Not Crap.
Two great records and one more on the way.
Mike Patton is a complete original.
Duane is a fantastic / creative player.
John Stanier is probrably on of the best drummers alive.
Rutmanis holds down the lowest of the low.
You cant look at it like its supposed to be anything like the guys other stuff.
So once again Not Crap.

25Mike Patton has one of the more annoying voices / singing styles in rock. He's one of those dudes quoting Monty Python at parties that you wish would shut up. The rest of the band is fine, and probably kicks ass live. But for the Patton factor,
CRAP.
CRAP.

26Based on the thread results, the Tomahawk sympathizers have been intimidated out of posting in their defense.
Patton is a great presence on stage and mid-grade Dennison is better than no Dennison.
Not Crap

27I bought both Tomahawk CD's, not knowing there was any JL connection, so I didn't spend my first listen comparing this Dennison band to other Dennison bands. Maybe that's why I like them?
The self-titled CD is good-ish. I'm fond of "cul-de-sac" and "Flashback".
Mit Gas is among my favorites. It's dynamic, evocative, and has a minimal amount of Patton random noisery. "Rotgut" and "Captain Midnight" both really stand out when I think of that album.

28I prefer Mit Gas, I still enjoy the first one, I may even grow to like the third one most of all based solely on the first song.
I know it's sweet to shit on Patton but if you're listening to him for something other than him getting all weird with his vocal range and gas mask and police dispatch microphone or basically wanting him to be some other band you love that the other guys were in then you're kinda in the wrong boat.

29i like the song route 101 or whatever it's called. god hates a coward is ok, probably would've blown my head off when i was 13. besides that it's pretty crap. when i saw them live (not having heard any) i thought it was funny that they did roxy music's "in every dream home a heartache"

Concurrence. I can't believe that no one thought of it before.
