In one scene while one of the killers is mutilating a corpse the other non chalantly removes a ring from the victims finger and contemplates over whether or not to put it on. Another happens to be a home invasion scene during Christmas time. This is probably the most gut wrenching part of the film. An entire family is killed and the mother is raped all while the Christmas tree is glowing in the back ground. There is also a brutal killing of a small child followed by the killer opening her presents under the tree.

no. no thanks.

It certainly is...ahem...tasteless. I doubt too many people wouldn't find it genuinely scary/disturbing, though. And I'd avoid those who don't...

I just watched From Dusk Till Dawn the other night on IFC.

What a silly, fun vampire movie. George Clooney had some hilarious lines.

"I don't believe in vampires, but I believe in my own two eyes, and what I saw is fucking vampires!"

"So what are you, Jacob? A faithless preacher? Or a mean motherfuckin' servant of God?"

Does anyone here love Paul Naschy flicks as much as I do? I'm considering collecting...

He's not new, but he has been involved in some new stuff. His latest film (shot, I believe, by his son) is a good, modern romp. I can't remember the title...

I am looking forward to this:

If it falls in with the other newer flicks he's been involved in, it's bound to be fun. Not in a 'extreme gore' way, but as a modern extension of the goofy/arty horror I'm addicted to.

Paul Naschy. Remember 'Horror Rises From the Tomb'? I think that was the first actual 'gore' movie I ever actually saw. Alone, at 12 years old, in a hotel room many miles away from home...ahhh.

Original Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Exorcist
Ring (maybe)
Rosemary's Baby
The Shining
Suspiria
The Descent (one of the best horror movies i've seen in a while)
Alien

As far as really scary I'd list those
Last house on the left is not scary at all
disturbing as hell? yes
I own it and won't watch it again

28 Days Later is a great movie but I wouldn't say as scary as the above
