I'm normally chill with this sort of thing, with one exception: I saw a rap record (non-Hispanic) where there was a song called "Mommy." Now, rap songs about mothers are common, because no matter how hard a rapper is/pretends to be, he still loves his mom. But NO! This was not a "Mommy" song, this was a "Mami" song, and the disconnect was really fucking creepy.

geez, chill out over this. Papi is sort of a term of endearment. It means roughly "handsome man." Usually it's just dudes joking around with each other. It's sort of like saying "hey handsome" in a joking manner.
