Indeed! A very nice gesture. Didn't stop Forest from losing again though.

It does seem possible that Mr Mourinho may need professional psychiatric help in the light of his swinging a laptop in anger (what would the Boys' Book of Soccer for 1947 have made of that?) On replays it wasn't obvious to me that the ball Kalou placed in the Blackburn net had travelled backwards to him rather than forwards. Mr Mourinho has perhaps forgotten that his team only took a point at Anfield through acknowledged referee error.

What may be truly worrying for the Blue community is that last night's Champions' League game drew a smaller crowd than that which attended Leeds United v Hartlepool in League One eleven days ago (much can be done with a killer statistic). If Mr Mourinho needs advice he can always speak to some former Chelsea luminaries, Messrs Wise and Poyet.

When my son bought me a Leeds mug a few years ago it came with a Leeds teddy bear, about four inches tall (this was before Wise became manager) in dark blue with a club crest. The bear spent much of last season with his face symbolically turned to the wall, or prostrate on the clock radio. This week I discovered that the bear can actually stand, and after Friday's ending of Bristol Rovers' unbeaten league record since March, including two tasty goals from Jermaine Beckford, he is fully upright. Plenty of season left for a slump. Footymad indeed predicted Rovers to win, and added the comment that neither side was setting the world alight. They obviously didn't want to be carried away by Rovers not losing in 16 games and Leeds's five straight wins, though shortly after I'd read the prediction Alan Thompson, Leeds captain, was saying that the team kept winning but their performances had not set the world alight. Maybe Footymad had it right after all.

Stevenage won 2-0 at KitKat Crescent on Saturday, and last night entertained Farsley Celtic, from Leeds. In the midst of the troubles with HMRC, Football League and all that, Farsley, a team largely composed of Leeds United rejects, were musing about renaming themselves 'Leeds FC' - so it was interesting to see a vehicle decorated with Leeds United stickers in the car park - and satisfying that Farsley were stuffed. Why would you want to change your name anyway when initially it is FCFC?

Your dad needs to learn the offside rule.

Kalou was behind the player (I forget who) who passed it to him. This means he was onside, whether the ball was played forward or not.

Shaktar Donetsk had a goal disallowed againt Celtic for similarly wrong reasons. Your old man's right about one thing though: Mourinho's a moany fuck.

Yeah I'm not with my old man either - the goal was onside.

I think he knows the rule perfectly well.

I think he may just be blinded by loathing for Chelsea.
