Here's a smooth article with some interesting tidbits on whistleblowers, related to our administration's stances on torture.

The MSM is orchestrated by the CIA, the banks, Wall Street, and the military industrial complex.

I'd be curious to see specific examples of this. So does the New Yorker need to get approval from one or all of the above entities when they run Sy Hersh articles?

When I looked it up, all I could find were a bunch of "conspiracy" minded sites that just posted the quote over and over again.

This says nothing about the quotes veracity, I'm just frustrated I can't find any more details about it. All I know is it was supposedly given in a speech to new recruits in 1988 (Or at least that's what those sites said.)

This is a quote that is begging for the larger story around it. Do you know anywhere I can get more information on this quote? Maybe I just took a wrong turn in the series of tubes that is the intrawebs.

The "conspiracy" was just saying what was on the sites I found. They dealt with conspiracies, hence the "conspiracy-minded" label.

I just wanted some more info to try and figure out why anyone would say something this stupid publicly. (Unless of course it was unearthed from classified documents) If it was said publicly, he is not a very bright head of the CIA.

My objective is to state my belief that the CIA influences the media, and you are all free to do whatever you want with that statement, ignore it, say it's wrong, whatever.

I've never stated or implied that anyone should not be free to state their opinions--I'm very strongly in favor of free speech. You're free to claim that Thimerosal causes Autism, and I'm free to disagree with you. I hate it when any individual, government, religion, or cult tries to shut people up, or stifle open discussion and debate.

Can you think of news stories (not theories) that were not covered in the MSM but were covered elsewhere? I think Hersh's Abu Ghraib story in the New Yorker was harmful to the Bush Admin. Does the CIA or someone else control the New Yorker? Is the NY free to publish whatever they want? Is Hersh controlled?
