I get an entertaining visual here...hopefully, they said it in unison...

That would have been worth the whole day of listening to him play so horribly.

Alas, no. Just one at a time.

I would have really gone for the Sophoclean Chorus in a big way, though.

Ben and I are moving at the end of the month, to Alameda. We were just approved for the apartment that we wanted, after having the rental agency initially choose another applicant and the owner of the duplex advising them to reconsider us.

We had our interview with the owner on Saturday.

This comes on the heels of having both of our cars broken into and, early this morning, waking up to the sounds of dripping water from our ceiling. We learned from our roommate that the neighbours upstairs have a hydroponic pot-growing set-up, so I assume that it sprung a leak.

This means that I can now look for a job without questioning where I will be living, I can schedule the rest of my possessions' shipment out here (hello! leather sofa...), we'll have a garage space that may be large enough to accomodate my boat, and I can have orchids again! ORCHIDS! And Ryplalis, and Epiphyllum, and...

Gah! I am so happy!

great eurovan! (that's what they are called in america) i like those a lot, out of my price range, however.

i also acquired a new van recently. same make, different, older model.

1987 vw vanagon Wolfsburg "weekender." i love this van. 140K miles (225K kilos). it's already had the heads and valves replaced and transmission rebuilt; these were notorious for the originals bunging up. paid $2,200 for it, the most i ever paid for an automobile.

so couple of weeks ago my department moved to a new physical location. before the move i had a cublicle. now i have an office. the funny, in a rather sad way, thing, is that i have LESS privacy now. the walls in this building echo like crazy, so much so that it seems the cubicle walls i had before kept more sound out and in than my office walls do.

the fact that my new short boss is in the adjacent office on one side and his boss is in the other adjacent office leaves me very little peace or privacy.

A quick google tells me that although this typo has happened before, there is not yet a band called this. Naturally I am seeking to rectify this situation immediately.

Classic.

Hmmm.....I bought a new bass. Looks exactly like this:

except for the fact that it is a 1983 MIJ Squier (see my post about this on the Tech Room board). It plays and sounds great, just needs some new strings. May eventually swap out the neck for a legitimate Fender Precision neck if my budget allows it.

Public Speaking 101 tonight at 7:30. Practice for "The Jesus Lizard" Halloween show later, then I'll probably come home and watch "Unforgiven" while enjoying a beer. My night is golden.

Nice bass! I was the bassist for a Jesus Lizard Halloween band once. It came in handy when we played with Qui earlier this year.
