And I wouldn't want Alex Rodriquez anywhere near the Red Sox, for any salary.

you know what a-rod was thinking. he's watching this series and he wants to win a championship. he knows the yankees are not what they were. he will take a big pay cut to play for the "rod sox."

Not bad for a throw-in on the Josh Beckett deal. Now, hopefully the Red Sox will re-sign him and stay the hell away from A-Rod. Let him go to the Dodgers or the Cubs where he can go about his business of not winning World Series.

Great timing for Boras and A-Rod. No-class acts, the both of them. With his typical post season disappearing routine, any team that would want to sign him should do so only at a pay cut. Here's hoping for a little owners collusion. After the Rockies got to the big stage on a team salary a little more than twice his annual pay, why bother chasing after him? Only Texas would be stupid enough to commit so much money to a chronic choker.

You are the most well spoken MLBer.

Salut.

Yeah I never heard much from Lowell but he sounds like a really nice guy and is very well spoken. 4.0gpa was no fluke.

Time to let Timlin, Wake and Schilling walk and spend all that money on a 34 year old 3B. Even 1 more year of that greatness is worth eating a 3 year deal.

People are saying the Red Sox fans are just like the Yankees fans now. Not so. the difference is Yankees fans feel like they are owed a championship and AL east crown every year. They *deserve* it because NYC is the "best city in the world"

Boston fans are not like that, we almost felt pity on the Rockies. We know what it is like to be pwned offensively and defensively, to have bad managers making bad subs at the wrong times. We know what its like to get bad calls from the umps that we could not overcome.

Lets face it, that strike zone last night was simply the ump wanting the series to end. High and outside were strike 1s all night long, forcing Rockies hitters into a pressure hole. he did the same thing to sox hitters, but it didnt have the same effect.

When a Rockie hitter goes up to the plate and its 0-0. he takes a ball high and outside, in his head he is now sitting pretty. Ump calls strike 1 instead and they got all frazzled.

The Red Sox almost handed COL games 3 and 4 on a plate. Serving up close games that are perfect for NL teams that are experienced at perfectly timed double switches, bunts etc...

Yet in a bizarre twist, Francona pulled perfect double switches in both games, they were so well timed that even the announces were still caught up in the meaningless Ortiz vs Youk debate.

Clearly sitting youk was the only choice as evident by his excellent oven mitts.

As a fan I saw the 07 red sox do exactly what they should have done. Ignore the fanbase criticizing Coco, Drew, Lugo, Pedroia (early).

The few mistakes the Sox management made were seemingly out of fan reactionary moves. Trading for Gagne was an obvious blunder that was made out of a panic "Oh no, we don't have a RHP set up man!"

My girlfriend has come full circle on Paplebon. She now likes him because of his over the top creepiness. At first she was shocked at what a clown he was, but now she just laughs at him.

Also noted

Holliday looks like a yankee already w/ his typical Yankee "things aren't going my way" Puss face.

Girlfriend HATES Spilborgh's face for some reason, she would literally look away from the TV during his ABs.

When your entire playoff lives depend on Jamey Carroll and Seth Smith, waving of the white flags seems appropriate.

And seriously, WTF 2nd game in a row waving "we surrender" white flags? Someone please phone the CLE and COL owners and tell them to stop handing out we surrender flags.

COL should have found a way to pitch Manny Corpas more.

COL unis are horrifically ugly. Fake yankee pinstripes, purple... yuck

WTF is w/ Barney the Dinosaur behind home plate late in games> Sooo annoying.

I am actually glad the series is over now. I am super busy at work at trying to get home for a 5:15 PST start time was a chore. I am so sick of McArver and Buck that I could not stand hearing them again. Radio is like 30 seconds ahead and I dont have TIVO so trying to radio audio and TVfox video didnt work.

John Miller and Joe Morgan are IMO the best baseball announcers going. I don't watch a lot of giants games, but Miller's role isnt to hammer away at the steroids issue non stop. He is a play by play guy.
