Man, I remember the hate that was tossed at that record when it came out. I liked it a lot, but it was maybe my third favorite. Over time it's moved up the ladder and I think it might just be the best Pavement record.
You got a lot for your money with it as well.
I still can't think of my favorite record of all time. Top ten is hard enough.

83I'm pretty sure that as long as people make albums, tastes and sensibilities are going to change, and so are most people's personal favorites.
Sure, we'll all hang on tight to a few, but somebody will come along and do something that simply cannot be denied, even and especially if the musical landscape- especially the punk/hardcore/indie/underground one- is cluttered with every variety of dispensable tripe.
Having to choose- it hurts one's head.

The appeal of this album or this band in general will forever elude me. Regardless of how inane a thread such as this may be, in what way this could be considered the greatest album ever is plain baffling.

86I can't pick the greatest album, but I can name you several. One of them being 12Twelve's L'Univers.

87These won't be popular picks around here, but for me it's either Rancid - ...And Out Come the Wolves or The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead.
They should have dropped the last 5 songs on the Rancid album though.

88Rapeman Two Nuns and a Pack Mule. Great lineup, great songs, great sequencing, no boring parts. I never get tired of it.
