I recently found this quote on a forum pertaining to the Elite in room A:
"Longtime Wellspring associate and acclaimed freelance tech Burt Price recently modified the Neotek Elite in studio A with switchable Neve 80 series output amps. This will allow the mixing engineer to flip a switch and engage the same circuitry that drives the outputs of $200,000 vintage Neve consoles. The result is an audible fattening of the board's output, which especially enhances rock mixes. The original clean sound of the Neotek is still available, but we like this new feature when crunch and ballsiness are called for ina mix. "
If this is the case, are these switchable output amps on each channel or just on the master section? and how often do they get used compared to the neotek outputs?
curious.
Hey Steve, your Neotek...

Hey:
I don't know what this author is referring to, but our console has no such modification. The audio electronics on our Elite are the same as stock, except for the master section insert, master section combiner amp, direct-out buffers, stereo group inserts and stereo master output buffer. The desk also has Flying Faders automation, but that isn't audibly fat.
There are other differences between the Electrical Elite and stock Neotek Elites, but they are small and tweaky, and I don't think they are crunchy or ballsy enough to mention at the moment.
I hope to have a complete overview of the console and description of its signal flow ready for inclusion on the web page before too long.
