They are indie pop, but not boring. There's alot of sneaky shit going on under the hood. That's what endears me to them.

Their not nearly as indie pop as say the later Superchunk records.

According to Pitchfork, No Eddie Watkins on tubs for the ATP show. Drag.

also from: http://usedbinforever.blogspot.com/
...the excrable Pitchfork Media (a consistently lame site) inferred that it won't be a "full reunion" because "drummer Eddie Watkins is not participating." Poppycock. True he won't be there, but not because he doesn't want to be. Polvo's members, for reasons unapparent, decided to use Brian Quast (a nice guy I'm sure), of the Cherry Valence, in Watkins' place.

I'd hate to enter into the "Eddie should be there" arguments here, but something's gotta be said. I just don't get it. He was a major component of their texture, and while I love Brian Walsby, his substitute drumming on Polvo's final record, Shapes, didn't provide the same distinction that Watkins gave the band on all their notable recordings.

I may choose, at a later date, to tell you more of the story regarding Polvo's incomplete reunion. Some of it isn't any business of mine, but hey, we'll see what happens.

hmm. curious.
