arggh! what an horrible image!
there's a legendary guitar player here that, completely drunk and stoned and after a particulary bad gig in a museum on the top of a HILL, decided to throw his twin reverb down the hill.
like, 100 meters bouncing.

Dr Akaward once got really mad at his old drum stands and after a show through them into a river... I think that show was with Bearclaw if I remember correctly...

svt?

oh wait, that's a 90lb amp.

Yes, and 100lbs with the ATA case.

You want to hear a nightmare? My old band had 11 guitars (not including the bass) that we had to haul around everywhere.

was that really necessary?

it kind of was, as they had the sonic youthy thing going on...

This kind of shit will make you hate. A guy in my old band pulled this all the fucking time. I no longer play music with this person.

There is ALWAYS someone in a band who ducks out early. "Oh shit, man. I went out back to smoke a joint with these dudes I met. They liked our set. Said we can go hang out at their apartment if we want. So... all our shit's loaded already?"

Another band I was in, the other 3 guys had jobs that seemed to always prevent them from meeting up early enough to load up when we had a local show. I can't count how many times I went down to the room and loaded all our shit by myself and got it to the club. Then, one time we had a show in town and I was working graveyard shift at my job. I had to leave to go to work right after our set. All the guys had to do was load my shit out just this one time, right? So, I had this cool old green Fender Musicmaster. Nothing special about the guitar, it was just one I really loved. Would have never sold it, it was worth more to me than to anyone who would have paid me for it. My cock-sucking band mates left it at the club. They took everything else back to the practice room. Except my guitar. It was at least 3 or 4 days before we assembled together again at the room and we became aware of my guitar's absence. When I went back to the club, the guitar was, of course, no where to be found. Thank you, band mates! Fucking bunch of numb-nuts.

they were a damn good live band, and played every guitar the two times we played with them... hauling that many guitars if is worth it if you don't have to make the audeince wait while you tune...

plus one was a baritone and anouther was a 12 string

that's true. though unless you tune them during another band's set, and not at the beginning of your own, they're still waiting on you.

chris jury wrote:anyone remember Jay's Upstairs in Missoula? That was a total bitch to load into/out of. Especially the rickety wooden back stairs when they were covered in snow and everyone was drunk. Man, I am glad the ampeg 8x10 never made that trip.

Thats a pretty crappy load, though I think Gabe's Oasis is worse, since it was outdoors.

Of course, I never played either place in the winter, just in the middle of August.

I consider myself lucky in that the bands I've been in have usually practiced at ground level, and we don't have too much extraneous stuff to make loading in/out a pain. The few times I've dealt with an Ampeg 8x10 has made me glad I've never owned one.
