Do you inhale pipe smoke?
I don't care much for cigars but then again I've never tried my hand at smoking one that didn't cost less than a dollar or two. Maybe I'll give it another go sometime.

If you do try something in the $5-10 range (a very safe range), I wouldn't start off with a candela (light green) or claro wrapper (really light brown). They'll be too bitter.
Usually, the people working in (good) cigar shops know a buttload about cigars and how to prescribe them so if you just go in there and say what you've disliked about cigars in the past, they'll likely point you in a suitable direction.
ou can inhale pipe tobacco but i wouldn't because there is usually no proper filter. The last time I bought pipe tobacco I stumbled upon this barely-not-a-shack tobacco shop. I purchased a flavor called "sunrises" because, as soon as I read it, I heard the singer of Complete say "beautiful sunrises..." and knew that an 8oz bag was minimally necessary.

34I just tried a hoyo de Monterrey Dark Sumatra. The shorter of the two, a sort of robusto size.
Awesome. I think I'm going to buy a box. For the newb, this would be a good starter cigar. It's about $5 for one and they aren't bitter at all really, very smoky and have an excellent after taste.
Would Hemingway say 'newb'?

35People...
Do not inhale your cigars.
Also...
Macanudo is CRAP. There are a few that are okay, but... bleh.
THIS is the greatest cigar I have smoked and I have smoked thousands. FUCK Opus X, FUCK Diamond Crown Maximus etc.- La Aurora 100 Anos are tit sandwich! Layer upon layer of flavor, like a seven-course meal. I can't say enough about this cigar. Another favorite are the La Aurora Preferidos. All great cigars can be bought HERE.
Padron Anniversarios are great. Rocky Patels had a great run but have changed over the last few years. Ghurkha's higher end stogies are nice, and a sleeper hit is Paul Garmirian, but make sure you get their high end stuff, reminiscent of the better Avos.
Oh and the best bargain IMHO are Private Stock. They're Avo "seconds", supposedly with minor blemish but I've never had any problem with the burn or the taste and the price is right. Buy them HERE.

I seriously thought that Phillies were exclusively for emptying out and filling with weed. People actually smoke these?

I was kind of surprised too. Got them because my dad recommended them. I would also smoke swisher sweets every once in a while, but didn't like them very much. I thought those were bluntsclusive too until I got a recommendation for them.
Tried to smoke a Romeo y Julieta somethin or other on Friday night and just couldn't do it. It tasted good, but I got too impatient. The whole time I just wanted a cigarette. When I eventually quit smoking, I'll try the cigar thing again.

40I haven't smoked cigars in a year or two, but it was a regular works night out thing in my last job. They were usually mini things for after dinner. Nobody seemed to mind at all. That was in Holland though.
But back here in the sunny UK, everybody's offended by it, so I would wander off and smoke a cigar or two on my own in the trees. Most relaxing. No inhaling though. Turns your face green.
