Jazzmaster knock-off: Jay Turser JT-SFM

1
In my ever ongoing search for a decent, preferably affordable guitar that suits my Jazzmaster-oriented tastes, I've come across another new knockoff made on Chinese slave labor.

The Jay Turser JT-SFM

It gets uniformly positive reviews on the Harmony Central site (for whatever that's worth) and is currently going for 300 euros on German Ebay.

So, has anybody out there got any experience with these things?

Check out www.fatdawg.com. This guy makes something called a JizzBlaster that you special order. He can make it pretty much exactly like a jazzmaster (hence the name). They run around 400 bucks. They are hand assembled in the US using NOS japanese parts and some current parts. The dude is kind of crazy and can be tough to deal with, but I played a bunch of guitars he made when I was at the shop a few weeks back and ordered one my self (although) my is a baritone). While I was in the shop someone called looking for a vintage dano body. I guess "fat dawg" bought a dano factory and has a stock pile of parts that he uses to make his guitars. Well the dude wanted to buy just a body, and fat dawg said "My guys make their living putting these things together, I dont sell the parts on their own, unless you trade me something we can use in its place". Than pretty much hung up on the guy while he was trying to convince him to sell one. I thought that was pretty awesome.

i droll everytime i see that pic. that's my favorite color combination for a jaguar / jazzmaster. if somebody i can manage to build / buy one, it will be just like that. maybe with a maple neck.
