I've had two F-150s now. I am looking out the window at my 1979 F-150 now.

They are the Peavey T-60 of trucks.

Solid, reliable, cheap, heavy.

The problem, of course, is that the Ford 302 ci V-8 engine with a four barrel carb burns only slightly less petroleum than this:

But fuck, dude. How much fun would it be to have the only one in Barcelona?

The seller woulnt give me any details about its condition, and since im poor as hell i didnt want to take the chance.

But hey, let me know how it turns out.

This just arrived today! It's cool. The seller said that the electronics don't work, but I plugged it in to see what exactly it was doing: noisy fuzzy crackling, bearing no resemblance to anything the strings were playing.

One of the slider switches (controlling the neck pickup) is fucked, so i got out the soldering iron and hardwired it to 'on'. The bridge pickup switch still works, but the pickup itself is evidently knackered. The neck pickup sounded awesome through my orange though!

It looks like someone has put a humbucker in the bridge, and put the broken stock pickup back on to sell it. The scratchplate has been cut, which is a bit of a shame but nothing major.

The neck feels really really nice. It's quite broad and flat, but not too wide. It looks nice and straight too, no nasty kinks. The body is really small and light.

Looking at the pickups, and from what I've read on here it seems to have been made by Teisco.

Best £26 I've spent in a while!
Alnegator!

indeed. there would be fear in the heart of every spaniard on the streets.
plowing over the innumerable scooters would be worth every euro in gas.

aside from that.
i've heard many good things about the 6 cylinder engines found with some of these trucks.

The 300 ci straight 6 made from some time in the late 1960s to about 1980 is truly a remarkably durable engine, so long as you're driving the carburettor engine. At some point, they put EFI/Fuel injected ignition on it, and it became a lot less desirable.

Still, even the 6 cyl doesn't really have fuel ECONOMY, per se... I wish they made a small diesel pickup with something like the Mercedes 5 cyl diesel engine like I used to have in my 300D. That's a truck I would buy in a heartbeat.
