Went to the doctor today. I thought since I'm not working anyway I might as well get signed off sick and while I'm at it try to get some stronger painkillers. In a stroke of good/bad luck I got the one good doctor in the whole bloody surgery.

She signed me off for 6 weeks and prescribed me Bedranol (propranolol) which is beta blocker. I don't really need it because I exaggerated the frequency of my migraines but I'll give it a go because it can send you loopy and why not? Apparantly it's prescribed for post-traumatic stress to soldiers and

such use as a 'memory-blunter' could endanger society, because "blocking emotional memories risks falsifying our perception and understanding of the world. It risks making shameful acts seem less shameful, or terrible acts less terrible, than they really are"

Then I asked for something that would knock me the fuck out when I get a migraine and she gave me Migard (Menarini) but only six of them.

So I get home and start reading up on these two (I'm an incessant pill popper but I read up on anything I take) and apparently you're not supposed to take them together. She even got out a little book and read about them to see if they're OK together.


Of course sods sodding law means I naturally got two calls about potential jobs today. Still, if they don't pan out I can get some of that sexy incapacity benefit.
