I second Sai Cafe (Sheffield and Armitage) - best unagi'n'sake gluttony I've experienced in a while, and a relaxed ambience for the area. Get to and then take the brown line to Armitage and walk East to Sheffield. Driving - and especially trying to park - in that 'hood is the worst.

I only recently discovered sushi - last year - but ever since I have had an incredible passion for it. I love sushi. LOVE IT. I even ate it for breakfast once and hope to do it again.

I love sushi.

Not for me, though I'll probably give it a second shot sometime when I'm dragged along to a sushi bar. Sushi does not work well when one has an extremely pronounced gag reflex and a past history involving the study of aquatic and marine-bourne parasites. I don't find joy in holding back the urge to vomit as I swallow my food.

However, other people seem to enjoy it immensely, so good for them.

I don't indulge as much as I would like to, but goddamn nothing in this world tastes like a good, fresh hamachi.

I used to go to a place called Taka, which was run by a woman who was also a potter. She made all the dishes and such. If you were a "regular" there, she made you your own tea mug. I wonder if mine is still there.

there's a sushi place just near my work that makes sushi out of things like soft-shelled crab, abalone, eel, etc (as well as your standard tuna etc). it's brilliant, and all really freshly made because the place is so popular.

personally i prefer sashimi to sushi, though. screw the rice, i just want the raw fish.

oh. NC. definitively.

Delicious food. People who talk about how gross sushi is yet stuff their faces with fucking McDonalds cheeseburgers are the Modest Mouse fans of gastonomy.

I've only once had a McDonald's burger. It was when I was three years old. I hated it.

I also do not like sushi.

Then you're square. I understand the dislike of sushi. The safety of raw seafood is a crapshoot. I'm safe in other areas of my life that are far less delicious, so fuck it.
