Sigh.

Such a waste of promising potential.

well, that's billy cornball's fault...i've never heard the record, but i know that at least one of the engineers is good (and i am not saying that due to a bias of any kind--it's scientifically true).

speaking of that moron, corgan...i've got machina/the machines of god sitting around in a box at the top of the closet...on vinyl, for chrissakes, because the pretty pictures were bigger.

also, i own sentimental journey by boots randolph.

and something by blue oyster cult, which i've only listened to once--i don't even know what it's called. "tyranny and transmutation"? "tyrannical mutation"? something along those lines, but i really have no idea. my obvious apathy aside, i could get rid of it, but i think i've even forgotten that i've owned it until now...

into the gap by the thompson twins...god, arista really skimped on those guys. even to the untrained ear, it's obvious by production alone that "hold me now" was the "hit" of the record. anyway, this was my first favourite record, from when it was released. and then mtv first appeared, and i recall one day how mum called me into the living-room, because they had some new video on...

this thread really doesn't even begin to scratch the surface. you'll see what i mean...

mysterious regards,
jet.

not only metallicas best album, but probably the best american thrash album of all time. and definately up there with celtic frosts "into the pandemonium" as best metal album EVER. it's a shame what happened to the band after the death of cliff burton.

I have a collection of CDs in a drawer in my basement consisting of disks the used record store WONT take (even for free).

let's see...

Live - Throwing Copper
Loud Lucy - Breathe
Morrissey - Southpaw Grammar
The Fall - Seminal Live
Sugarcubes - Here Today, Tomorrow, Next Week
Mother Love Bone - Stardog Champion (I don't even know how I got this one - record club maybe)
Inspiral Carpets - Revenge of the Goldfish
there's more...

oh, the shame! I should probably re-cycle the jewel cases. :?

Probably the best album of a flood of wasted time, energy, and space.
It's kind of like comparing different kinds of feces. dog crap to geese crap, horse crap, and elephant crap. Clearly the dog crap is the best EVER.

Yeah I wish they would have quit. Actually I wish they quit after their first practice, realizing they were about to waster the next 20 years.

Sorry, but after the "megatherion" album, celtic frost went down the shitter immediatly. There's Morbid Tales, that EP with that devil snake dude with the buxum women, another ep with a black and purple cover, and the mighty "Too Megatherion". That's it. Then came the blue jeans and make up- and it the fall out. Metallica is acually a good comparison. The last album of theirs that I can even remotly tolerate is the "black" album (it was really starting to suck at this point). Then the make up and stuped pictures -then the fall out.

As far as thrash, those first Napalm Death lp's kick everyones ass, along with that DRI lp with the white cover. (or is that a hardcore lp?)

to mega therion is exceptionally good, but pandamonium captures that over the top aspect that metal is so famous for. and part of the reason i enjoy it is for the cheesy humor it provides. and when making a public critsism like "best metal album EVER", i'm not taking it from my personal list, i'm taking into consideration the general mentality of the metal community.

what's the point of this post? o.k., you don't like metal. i bet i could not like alot of the music you listen to. i could say (hypothetically) "all classical is shit, but i won't elaborate at all as to why". but then again, what's the fucking point.
