Thanks - I've owned and cursed Alfas for the last 20 years (33, 75, 147, 156 and this GTV) and in fact I have owned this car for 12 years. But it's been sitting neglected for 4 years so I think it's time to make some decisions and see what is salvageable. And I do have a replacement steering wheel in beautiful shape, but it's from the mid 80s when the wood steering wheels were cleverly made lacquered plastic ...

llllllllllllllllllllllll wrote:This looks cool as hell! Thanks!I just got done with this ribbon controller circuit designed by Ian Fritz. I finished it earlier today, but didn't have it fully functional until a little while ago. The joys of building on perfboard! I need to design a panel for it still, but I will be using it as-is until I get around to that. I have a gig in a couple of weeks, so I've been scrambling to put anything useful together beforehand. Anyway, this circuit is really cool. It puts out a gate while your finger is on the ribbon, and holds the note value after you remove your finger. The PCB is kind of big, considering the fact that there are only three jacks, so I'll probably design the panel with a bunch of passive utilities to fill out the extra space.

GTV update #1: a can of fuel, some carb cleaner, a battery, an hour and a half, got it started. Drove a couple of blocks to put it in my driveway. Felt good to hear the engine kick over, I can tell you. Gearbox looking less terrifying than I thought - apparently the driveshaft yoke nut is loose, not a broken part as I thought. Also discovered my mate has about four parts Alfettas and GTVs, so things are looking up somewhat.
