Nirvana Marigold Mic Technique Guesses

Welcome aboard tyho. I think you'll find if you use the search function that this question has been asked many times here. If you've read about Steve's recording setups in general, then I think you are probably like 90% of the way there already. Marigold is indeed a great sounding song. I believe that FM Bob Weston recorded it during some down time at the In-Utero session. It also has the distinction of being the only Nirvana song that Kurt Cobain didn't play on.

Hi everyone, I love the sonics on "Marigold" from my "Heart Shaped Box" single CD i've had since grade school. Huge bass and drums! Great room sound that gets even "bigger". I've read a ton of interviews where Steve Albini discusses his mic selections and techniques, so I could guess. But I'd love to hear what your guesses are. Mics? Processing? My first post
