Looper for layering guitar & bass?

I do looping things that require separate audio and linked loop time. All you need is a true stereo looper like the JamMan stereo. Ammoon and probably Nux and a bunch of those cheapo eBay companies make stereo loopers as well. There's another pedal which I prefer but I won't posts its name since I'm always hunting them on the cheap, but there are plenty of options out there for you!

Looper for layering guitar & bass?

Here's what I'm looking to do, but am not sure the best way to go about it:In my practice space, I want to put down a looping bass line and have it play through my bass rig; then put down a looping guitar part that will play through my guitar rig; and then go play the drums to the two different loops until I get bored. Would be best if these bass and guitar parts could be stored so they could be played back on demand.I don't want to mess around with actually recording into a DAW for this--I really want to test out arrangements quickly with as little technical frustration as possible.I've read that the Pigtronix Infinity could be a single unit that may allow me to plug in a guitar and a bass and route signals to respective amps. I've also read that the EHX 45000 might do the same. I have never owned a loop pedal and thus have very little experience with them, so am only going on what I've found online.I looked into simply using two independent loop pedals like the Nux Core but then had the thought that without some way to sync/quantize the bass and guitar parts, the two loops would inevitably drift and the whole thing would go to hell. This makes a single unit with provision to sync/quantize look attractive, if seemingly quite expensive.Does anyone have recommendations on the cheapest / best ways to set up such a system? Thanks for any info!

Thanks for the speedy reply on this! I've done some more searching for 'stereo looper' and it does seem there are some inexpensive options.I am having to do some careful reading of the way inputs and outputs work, however, as some units are locked into stereo out, and thus, I wouldn't be able to have bass go only to bass rig, and guitar go only to guitar rig.The most promising unit seems to be the EHX 720, which has two inputs for instruments, L input to mono L output, and same for R. 10 slots to store loops as well. And not expensive. It does not have a quantize function, however, which may not matter here.If I can ask for further comment from you on quantize, is it correct to say that loops drifting out of time with one another is not a concern in this scenario, because if I put down a bass loop, and then record guitar as an overdub on top, the guitar loop would be played to exist within the confines of the original bass loop. I don't care if my playing is a bit sloppy and the bass and guitar are not perfectly in time, or perfectly in time with one another--I just don't want the two loops to drift apart so that playing drums then becomes untenable. I hope that question makes sense!

I suggest giving each side of the stereo looper its own bypass via effect loop pedal. There are lots of cheap true bypass ones and some nicer clickless stuff out there too. You want to do this because then you can punch in one loop or the other or mute both. Send your guitar and bass to their own fx loop pedals, run the Sends to the Ins on each side of the looper, then run the outs back to their respective Returns on the fx loops, and finally the Outs from the fx loops to the respective amps. This entire setup, looper and bypass pedals and cables and all can be done for about $100 if you're frugal.
