I'm not sure that it is really fair to say that he 'wanted' any of what happened. He seems to be a man trying hard to survive having made decisions that haunt him while in the grip of addiction.

A really sad story in general. I didn't know about any of the background, just the music. So sad.

I totally missed the bus on KARP when they were happening, I'm thankful for being exposed to them here. I can see why people consider bands such as Helmet to be rather boring and lackluster when compared to KARP. I wish I had been onto them when they were still together, their shows must have been righteous. I'm glad I've at least found them now.
There's a singles/rarities comp as well...Action Chemistry.

Karp is a pretty easy band to get obsessed with. I'm happy for you, haha!

I love KARP. Only got to see them once, at YoYo-A-GoGo in 1997. I remember hearing the rumor that Chris tried to hang himself not long before that show, but I thought it was just a rumor. I wasn’t aware it was true until I saw the documentary. There’s footage from that show on the doc, and I’m up front in the audience, taking in one of the best rock shows I’ve ever seen. They were so good. I loved watching Scott pound those drums.

If I were held at gunpoint and had to get rid of all my KARP albums except one, I’d probably keep Suplex, although S/T LP is just as good. The Rye split is great. I still have that one on CD.

Let’s not forget The Whip, their project with Joe Preston before Scott died.
