the first 3 discs are all brilliant, dropping off sharply inquality after Bend Sinister sessions - but even the final 3 disks have more great songs than i would've ever expected by the Fall.
I noticed that there are a lot of Fall fans that post here. The Peel Box is amazing.. Glad to hear others are enjoying it as much as I am. To talk more or find out more about the Fall please visit:
So no one has anything else to say? For reviews on this, J. Holland show, gigs etc. visit the above Fall forum. BTW it is of course totally free and chocked with tons of links to fall stuff.
i got the box set last week. it was available as an import. i just saw something saying that there'll be an american issue of it in early june, but the price difference doesn't seem all that much (i think the one next month is $4 less). still, a great buy, i've been listening to it alot.
I'm really digging this. Don't exactly agree about the quality drop-off comment - the later stuff is kicking my ass. ("Touch Sensitive", "Blindness" to name a few).
The first peel session for country on the click (Date?)
are better versions than the album versions i.E.
Green eyed loco man (intro-groovin with mr. blow)
Spart f.c.
Contra-flow
And a scorching version of Mag su mere ed.
I haven't bought the box yet, but it's on the list.
so, i know this is probably slightly out of place, but as a Fall fan who owns but one Fall album (This Nation's Saving Grace), where do I turn next? to the Peel Sessions, or to another album, and which would you folks recommend?
thanks
