12This is giving me severe Jag lust.

Re: It's the "Gear you have saved" thread!
14Thank you, kind people, it's definitely scratched the Jag itch for me. I had another MIJ one a while back, which was very pretty, but sounded anemic, had a neck profile I didn't enjoy, and the body felt a bit lumpen (flat sides with a roundover). This one is much nicer in the hands and the AVRIs sound percussive with that flat "DANK" a Jag should have. So I'm done looking now. As a bonus the 64 pickup could possibly pay back half what I spent on it, if I can clean it up carefully.

15Oh, dang. I actually have a really nice ATA rack case I was thinking about putting this into. I'm a little behind the eight ball financially right now, but I have a big tour coming up that'll make some $$. You may hear from me soon!!Nate Dort wrote: Mon Aug 22, 2022 8:20 amIt's for sale!: viewtopic.php?p=804515#p804515dontfeartheringo wrote: Fri Aug 19, 2022 11:40 pmIs there a plan for this amp? Too many GK 800RBs to count (one on the bench right now!).
I could put a speakon in there, no problem. That lucite top cover might not be terribly road-worthy though, if this is for who I think it's for. I'd have to find a piece of steel or aluminum to make a new cover.

Re: It's the "Gear you have saved" thread!
16You done a real good thing there. I'll probably never make room for a jag, but I'll always want one. That red looks great. Just shocking that it was saved.
Re: It's the "Gear you have saved" thread!
18One of my new guitars has a neck that's about 1.5mm too thick for my wee little hands. I'm just gonna sand that fucker. If it goes south, I'll start the 'ruined' thread with it.
Re: It's the "Gear you have saved" thread!
19You might wanna get some cloth backed sandpaper, I'd set the neck up between two tables with the headstock and the heel clamped, then drape a big sheet of the sandpaper over it and grab the ends to pull it down to sand back and forth. Be careful of the truss rod channel, they come close to the surface sometimes!
Re: It's the "Gear you have saved" thread!
20Thanks, yeah that is pretty much the plan, exposing the truss rod is the main thing I'm worried about. Taking off just 1mm will probably be enough. I actually kind of like the chunky neck, it's not uncomfortable, but I noticed my thumb getting fatigued a lot quicker on that guitar than any of my others, so....
