Well based on some interviews and the book. Tom was just the guitar player. He didn’t write songs for NMN because they weren’t a great fit for NMN songs. You were not going to replace Andy with anyone. According to the book, Rob did not speak to Andy for over a decade after he left. He left a giant hole, Obviously, I am thankful that they did continue on.

Kerr-era: one of my favorite bands ever. Andy was necessary to keep the balance, IMO, they got kinda corny when he left. Can't go wrong with You Kill Me through to 0+2=1, that's a classic run.

So sad I never got to see them live. Not big on youtube vids of concerts, but I've seen a few by them that were amazing.

This is one of my favorite drum performances ever, sound is spot on too:

Most of what I've played on
Most of what I've worked on

The only albums I have by NMN besides Wrong are 0+2=1 and The People's Choice. And honestly, there's only a few tracks on both of those that I like.
What other albums by them are essential?
"Whatever happened to that album?"
"I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall and it like, shattered."

Yeah, I agree that starting here is the best idea, and also agree that the sound is so much better than the studio recordings. IIRC the rendition of "The Day Everything Became Nothing" is particularly great. Been a while since I listened.

I think this is on The People's Choice - which I mentioned I owned - and it's one of the only songs from it I do enjoy.
