Since we have 3 pages of discussion on it, it's worth mentioning Pantera - Far Beyond Driven. Which I guess was probably a signifier of the what was going on in Metal, if nothing else.

Far Beyond Driven and the first Korn record were both 1994, and presaged the rise of Nu-Metal.

Woah! That three album run up to Orange was incredible. If the had broken up then it would have been perfect. They were pretty big here in Australia. Boss Hog too.

Jet Set is the last regular studio album (not including the exploratory series) of Sonic Youth that I liked. To be fair I have never listened to WM all the way through. So guilty as charged there.

God there was so much great music in Sydney in ‘94.

Sure it was a dystopian hellscape of political oppression but the blossoming new wave, post punk and electro pop really slapped.

It's only on VH1 that 1984 signified Spandau Ballet. Don't forget about the burgeoning thrash metal scene.

Did hit me that the Iceburn release Poetry Of Fire was '94.

Get that it isn't for everyone, but it held up surprisingly well when I heard it recently.
