42Kinda upgraded it a bit from my side. I just love love that song.andyman wrote: Thu Jun 06, 2024 11:41 am Terraform is the best-sounding, hands down. And it has "Didn't We Deserve a Look at You the Way You Really Are".
Nothing major here. Just a regular EU cock. I pull it out and there is beans all over my penis. Bean shells all over my penis...
Re: Favorite Shellac record (studio LPs)
43It’s funny, I love Terraform but find the recording the least dynamic of the albums. Not the songs, the mix.

I have no use for Shellac as a post-slint (Yes, I know Budd but I don't dig that song either) post-rock band and while 1000 hurts has several standouts, it's bogged down by some limp "indie-rock" tunes. No, I dig them when they rock out, that's what I tune in for... REALLY like the new one and that they didn't stretch out the grooves more doesn't bother me because they already done that more than enough... I dig the economy of it all

45Odd, that's what I meant. It sounds really warm....Gramsci wrote: Thu Jun 06, 2024 12:30 pm It’s funny, I love Terraform but find the recording the least dynamic of the albums. Not the songs, the mix.
Horses for courses I guess.
Re: Favorite Shellac record (studio LPs)
46It’s “warm”, it just just doesn’t sound as separated and dynamic - to me - as other albums of theirs. I should also mention it’s my favourite

Re: Favorite Shellac record (studio LPs)
47I've always been curious w/ AAP if it's known what was done at Southern vs. Black Box and similarly on Terraform what was done in Chicago (assuming at the Francisco home studio) vs. Abbey Road.

481000 Hurts. Everything really came together for that one to me: some instant classic songs, the packaging, the recording, the HP kicking in on Mama Gina, the test tones, even the weird digression songs. I loved that the vinyl box also had a CD rattling around in it. So good.

49The glow-in-the-dark oscilloscope was also fun.
To All Trains is finally here! And the packaging answers all my questions about the superb cover photo. The recycled disc with the label info printed on directly is pretty neat too.

50It’s slowly dawning on me after repeated listening To All Trains might be Shellac’s best album.
Oh, and Cowbell.
- Best sounding record
The songwriting is tight and perfectly formed
Musicianship - especially Todd’s - is brilliant.
The acerbic humour in the lyrics is fantastic
The vocal delivery and interplay is also fantastic
Oh, and Cowbell.
