The Fearsome and Mammoth "No one wants their music played at Trump rallies" thread

Except Kid Rock and Lee Greenwood.

This amusing article surfaced several days ago. It felt long overdue.

Then again, more recently, ABBA told the Trump campaign to stop using their music, and so did Jack White. The list goes on. Feel free to post examples here as they pop up, which they surely will.

It's almost as if people who've poured their heart and soul into creating art that might stand the test of time don't want to be associated with one of the worst figures to have shaped American public life.

Why is that?
ZzzZzzZzzz . . .

New Novel.

I think this is very unfair! Only a very nasty person would deny a patriot use of their song*, especially one that a lot of people say is not even a very good song.

REPLACEMENT SONG SUGGESTION: "Panic" (Hang the JD, hang the JD.....)

*Morrissey would have probably been fine with it.

Foo Fighters are on the list too. Royalty proceeds go to Harris' campaign

Also of note is that Trump claimed Taylor Swift endorses him but she hasn't come out for or against it...

I think they'd probably admit that symbolism and media literacy aren't his fans' strongest points. At that level of intelligence the immediacy of the music and its emotions are all that matters.
It reminds me how frat bros sing Every Breath You Take to their partners like it's a romantic song.

See also his over usage of YMCA.

This was posted here way before he 'won' in 2016: his completely whack interpretation of Citizen Kane. And this was clearly before his brain started to rot.
