That is very interesting. Just different enough, but can be built on the same platform as 2203/4

I do the regular gain stage rather than a cold clipper in my Cartographer amp. I grabbed that from a Bogner Shiva schematic. Should I be embarrassed? Reinhold is a weirdo, and com of his amps are kooky in a not-good way. Others seems really great.

Tube PA heads are great for that kind of thing with a set of 'normal' gain stages already there for the taking. Fender, traynor and Garnet heads that will have four inputs and four knobs and the thickest/gnarliest sounding to me was just take them out of parallel and run them all into each other. So each volume control gives you control over each stage. You can wire the inputs so each input gives you access to that many more stages.
Tons of fun. Change coupling caps to taste, although I have two of these rebel heads and didn't even do that

Different but related. Ages I go a guy I know came to me with a Fender PA-100 that has already been modded (very poorly) and he wanted to make something a bit more rock and roll out of it. There's so much space available in those fucks, plus tube sockets and all that and what I wound up doing was sort of a four-headed plexi snake (hissss) with one input where you could blend of the channel volumes together.

Confession: I finally disagree with Tyler
Decided to test this with 3 Rats within reach of me.
In order from lightest to heaviest:

A Rat 2
a Sunn EQD v2
And a Deucetone


The Deucetone is both heaviest and sounds the best.

Using objective factual analysis, I have determined that Tyler is correct and expect the peer reviews to reflect my initial findings.
