Between punk/independent, noise rock, no wave, and weirdo/music nerd bands, the 90's was an embarrassment of riches for rhythm sections IMO. But, given the choices, I voted for swivel hips. His Cows stuff was properly greasy/demented and the Rutmanis era of the Melvins was among their best stuff.

To be fair I have a soft spot for Flea. Seems a genuinely decent guy and good musician in an on aggregate awful band.
