Re: Movies you have watched thread.
1071A House of Dynamite. It's good, but I was expecting to like it better.
It's a movie so you can post it in either, IMHO, or even both.jfv wrote: Wed Nov 12, 2025 10:22 am Not sure whether to post this here or on the 'streaming' thread (I watched it on Amazon Prime Video):
I Like Me (the John Candy documentary)
I don't really feel like I know more about John Candy after watching it. It wasn't bad. Just underwhelming.
When I was 21 and working at a used record store, we also bought VHSs and DVDs. This dude brought in a ton of stuff, but I told him I couldn’t buy his copy of The Godfather because he was missing the second tape. He told me to keep it because he didn’t want to deal with it.rsmurphy wrote: Sun Nov 02, 2025 4:50 pmIt was actually quite the opposite in which I laughed uproariously for a good minute or so! *laughed in you've got to be fucking kidding me*iembalm wrote: Sun Nov 02, 2025 2:10 pm Reading that, I immediately thought of the scene at the beginning of Animal House when Flounder comes up to the table where a few guys are having what looks like a serious poker game and asks, "You guys playing cards?" and imagining that your silent reaction would have looked very much like theirs.
There is classic cinema that I've never seen. Take The Godfather. I don't think I've seen more than five minutes of it if even that, but if I was to walk in on somebody watching it I'd be like: oh, it's The Godfather. How can one not figure out it's Halloween after seeing Laurie's slow freakout to Annie splayed across a bed next to a jack-o'-lantern with Judith Myer's headstone behind her? Insanity, I tells ya!
Yeah, I saw it a few weeks ago. I'm kinda on the fence regarding how I felt about it, it's weird even for Yorgos L. (and I generally enjoy his films) I may need to watch it again when it gets to streaming.
Luca Brasi deleted scene.
Yeah, I'd say so. It's a remake of a Korean film, Save the Green Planet.andyman wrote: Thu Nov 20, 2025 3:12 pmIs it weird like his first films? It's not like Poor Things, though. If that annoyed you, this might be more your bag.
