Indian-Pakistani Food

You know, yaaro, so much of this shit they call the 'Indian foods', they are not! All with this shit of the bull colourings and chillies to make your arse feel like a gateway to Hades!

FACT: My mum makes the best aubergine 'curry' in the world. Anybody that tells you they can do better is a shit in a bagel. Despite being one of the simplest dishes to cook up, I have NEVER been able to replicate the flavour and texture of Mama Rimbaud's bangen.

I'm not 100% sure but isn't raita a yogurt based sauce? Mint chutney is not. Usually at Indian buffets, mint chutney can be found near the salad bar. Here's a recipe I found....

Mint Chutney (Pudina)
Ingredients
a full bunch of Mint leaves
garlic cloves 3
green chillies 3 - 4
tamrind paste 1/2 tsp
sugar 1 1/2 tsp
water 1-2 tsp (if needed)
salt as per taste

Method:
Wash and clean the mint leaves, then pluck it from its soft stem.
Put this leaves in the mixer and half gind it and then softly squeeze out the juice.
Again put these half squeezed leaves in the mixer and add all the other remaining ingredients.
Grind it till chutney turns smooth.

mmm, indian food! when in SF, always make sure to visit Shalimar, on Jones in the Tenderloin. cheap and delicious, don't forget to BYOB! :D

the food ain't the world's best, but NYC's Panna 2 - in the east village, i think - has atmosphere that more than makes up for the mediocre meal! tell them it's your birthday to get the full experience of lights flashing on and off in time to bad indian house music!

I have experienced this! Highly recommended. And the food really is not bad at all and cheeeeep. East 6th street was really my introduction to Indian food. One used to be able to get a complete lunch for $2.99. $2.99! Now it's like $6. Still good.
