Excluding the Windmill, Townshend does a lot of stupid shit- like standing in front of exploding kick drums and sending computers in for repair without deleting the kiddie porn.

2. pete didn't send his computer in for repair. and it didn't have kiddie porn on it, in any case. scotland yard investigated him for four months and found that he had accessed a kiddie porn site with a credit card. once.

the case was dropped b/c there was no evidence, compelling or otherwise, that pete townshend consumes child pornography. no material was found in his computer or in his house or in his possession in any other way.

this is a guy who had a longstanding, passionate, well-documented hatred of child pornography before these charges surfaced. his explanation of this event rings completely true given his past.

You know when you're walking down the street and there's this totally whacked out dude on Meth coming the other way and he's staring at you like he wants to rip your head off? I just keep walkin' and let him do his thing away from me. Townshend (or Pete for those on a first name basis) seemed pretty damn intense and it's quite a thing to watch from a distance... Kinda like a circus gimp, car accident, or a donkey show... You just can't look away, you can't ignore it and as there is always a Yang to the Yin, it belongs in this world. It is good, and it is not crap.

So not crap. Pete Townshend is not crap, The Who is not crap. "Tommy" is crap, but I forgive him.
