It's only a couple bucks.
Only assholes eat pizza by the slice in Chicago.
But if you must go to Bacci's, it's terrible but huge and cheap.

Oooh. Yes, go here. But on Thursday night. Go see 58. It is a comedy perfomance about bike messengeressengering. Fun story and great characters! It features Tony Mendoza of Lets Get Out of This Terrible Sandwich Shop and also EA Forum member Lux. It's cheap and fun fun!

Batter up, mattgringo!

Imagine my surprise when I recently visited Raley Field to see Sacramento play Tacoma and the great Pat Borders took the field and hit a "homer" (as i believe you call it). Lovely!

You saw the Sacramento Rivercats! And you are from Britain.

I live in Oakland, and have never gone to Raley Field to see the Sacramento Rivercats.

Salut.

I don't feel quite right recommending something I haven't done, but last time I was in Chicago, I tried and failed to see "Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind" at the Neo-Futurarium. It sounded pretty great: 30 plays in 60 minutes. And it's not the same 30 plays each time, either. Fringey stuff.

Admission is $7 + 1d6. For non-nerds, that's $6 plus you roll a standard six-sided die and pay $1 for every pip that comes up.

As to baseball, I saw the White Sox take apart the Tigers last time I was in Chicago, and found it very very enjoyable, despite the result. I expect it was better than watching the Cubs would have been. Still, pretty fucking far from free stuff to do in Chicago.
Why do you make it so scary to post here.

Best place for pizza by the slice?

Unlike NYC, Chicago is not really a pizza by the slice type of town. Chicago Pizza, if you want to try it, is typically eaten sit down in restaurants. You could probably find a better source than me for advice on a typical establishment to try...

For visitors coming to Chicago one of the most singular and defining things about this town to see/experience in my opinion is the architecture. If its your thing, look into one of the architectural tours, got to oak park and check out all the Frank Lloyd Wright houses, or just wander around downtown.

and try a chicago hot dog.

For slices, I think Giggios in Evanston on Davis St has the best slice around. Been going there since high school. And it's right by Vintage Vinyl which is a good, if sometimes overpriced, record store. You can reach it by "L", it is the Davis Street stop on the Purple line.

Santullos in Wicker Park on North Ave has good slices too, but that's because it's New York style pizza. Damen stop on the Blue Line. Good record store there too called Reckless Records. It's on Milwaukee. There's one on Clark street too and I think one in London.
it's not the length, it's the gersch

I really like this place.
Having grown up on the right coast, I was always eating shitty New York style pizza.
I've been to New York a couple times and Santullos is better than what I've had there. This could be because I went to shit places. No idea.

Though I have not eaten there in years I bet there is at least 17 pounds of that pizza still in my system... slowly making its way through my arteries. I LOVE GIGGIO's in Evanston! Just enough crust, just enough cheese, just enough grease. Add an RC cola and you have the perfect meal.
