Goin To Toronto

Thanks. I'm going to Queen Street West right now.

What is the deal with that "Cooo Cooo Cooo Coooo Coooo" thing? Can someone explain that to me? I turned on the TV and there was a montage of loads of people making that noise. I laughed my ass off cos I saw Shellac do it as an intro to 'Canada'. I don't get the reference though.

The sun has just come out, so I guess I should go do stuff.

Also, the Red Sox are playing the Jays tonight but I didn't want to go on my own in case people killed me with sticks.

Instead I'm gonna try to find a bar that is showing the game, watching a game live is a novelty in it's own right.

You may have trouble finding a bar that's showing the game. Toronto is NOT a baseball town, and the Jays have lost eight straight, so there aren't even fickle train-jumping fans about.

It's one of the things I love about America. Pretty much anywhere you go, there are people around who are ready to talk baseball. Here, I could ask a dozen people working in stores and restaurants and gas stations, "Who's pitching tonight?", and most if not all of them would just respond with confused silence.

I'm going to Toronto again next week.

Anyone know an especially good bar in this city? I'm going to be with friends and it would be really cool if there was an established watering hole that could accommodate a reasonably sized group. Or maybe a small hidden gem of a bar in the downtown area that might suit a couple of PRF types on a leisurely neet oot.
